Still no joy with recovering the £XXXXs that I'm owed by mBill.biz in revenue share payments for mobile content they have collected payment for and kept. Business I have generated for them at my expense and expected to be paid for.

I'm not happy and this post will remain here until I get satisfaction.

This isn't the first time this has happened and I should of known better than to give them the benefit of the doubt I had after the last time I had to resort to going public about them not paying me.

Interestingly at that time I was being told that VC funding was being sort after! I can't think of any VC fund that would want to get into a business that has problems paying people unless there were huge profits to be made.

At the time if anything the market for "off portal" mobile content was being severely affected by new operator blocking mechanisms brought about under the guise of protecting consumers. In reality a method for them to create a type of "walled garden" for their users. Something for which they were beaten in a High Court ruling in 1999 which enabled users to reconfigure the data connection on their handsets to different ones than the shipped settings provided by the operator. You could now essentially use a different WAP Gateway if you wanted to as a consumer. I'm suprised no one has brought this up. Why is 3G any different? All the consumer wants is a data connection? Broadband has gone this way, it's bound to happen with mobile data? A whole blog post for another day I think?

If you intend to create a business model based on getting "affiliates" to promote "your services" in return for a revenue share, one of the fundamental things you need to do is pay your affiliates on a regular basis. Do not expect them to exclusively promote your product when "you" are proven to be unreliable in paying on time. Remember that in some cases they are reliant on this income to keep their business going and in order to protect their business they may have to spread the risk that "you" have made them uneasy about carrying. There are plenty of other companies out there that understand this!

Thankyou for your Skype message the other day and information regarding mBill taking your call.

I'm sorry at this current point in time I cannot recommend mBill's services.

At the end of the day whoever you choose it doesn't really matter how cheap the services are if you end up high and dry without receiving your revenue payments.

I hope you find a reliable service.

Can you recommend a good Premium SMS Gateway for mainly USA traffic?

I've been looking for a simple gateway service and so far mbill.biz seems to be the cheapest and lists its prices publically.

Thanks.

Thanks for your support! I am actually one of the developers (and founders) of Pod2Mob. We are in the process of introducing a way for podcasters to control which ads are played and other fun things.

Let me know if you have any feature requests/comments, questions, etc!

Thanks
